Valley Partnership Hosts Panel on Economic Development

Recently, Valley Partnership hosted a legislative wrap-up and awards breakfast where Sen. Kate Brophy-McGee was given the Legislator of the Year Award.  As part of this event, Jaime A. Molera moderated a panel that included Sen. Brophy-McGee, Rep. Rusty Bowers (a leading expert on Arizona water issues), and Goldwater Institute President and CEO Victor Riches to discuss economic development in Arizona and the challenges our development/ business community faces. “Valley Partnership, under President and CEO Cheryl Lombard’s leadership, understands there are tremendous opportunities for Arizona to continue our robust economic development activities,” Molera stated. “However, there are also serious challenges that can negatively affect our economic prosperity (e.g. the initiative to raise Arizona’s income tax taxes, pushed by the teacher’s union).”
