Phoenix and Hermosillo Advance Entrepreneurship Exchanges

A Phoenix trade delegation organized by Molera Alvarez met with the leadership of the Monterrey Institute of Technology (the “Tec”) business incubator in Hermosillo, Sonora, on March 29, to further exchanges of entrepreneurship talent and ideas. The March visit followed up on the participation of entrepreneurship students from the Tec’s Hermosillo campus at PHX Startup Week in February. PHX Startup Week, sponsored by Chase Bank, welcomed the Tec students with support from the City of Phoenix and its Mexico relations team at Molera Alvarez, as well as Downtown Phoenix, Inc., and Arizona Public Service. The Hermosillo attendees were Luis Briones, pursuing a degree in Business Creation and Development, and Hector Torres, pursuing a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Their participation in PHX Startup Week, and the follow-up visit to the Tec in March, further the goals of promoting Phoenix as a tech hub that draws talent from around the globe, and strengthening the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.
