Hermosillo Trade Office Opens, Attracts Investment in Phoenix

The delegation advanced a strong economic agenda that included the signing of an MOU among the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Glenn Hamer), the Arizona Technology Council (Steve Zylstra), the Black Chamber of Arizona (Robin Reed), and the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce (Todd Sanders), with their counterparts at the leading business organizations of Sonora. The delegates visited multiple businesses using U.S. inputs to manufacture products in Hermosillo, gaining a stronger awareness of the importance of NAFTA and the connectedness of our supply chains. Mayor Stanton also opened the prestigious COPARMEX Business Summit with a panel on the importance of trade and the U.S.-Mexico relationship. City of Phoenix Economic Development Director Christine Mackay led the panel discussion with Glenn Hamer, Todd Sanders, and Steve Zylstra. Additionally, Phoenix-based non-profit 1Misson, joined by Mayor Stanton and Mayor Acosta, placed the first stone at an affordable housing project in the community of Miguel Aleman.
