AzLTA Virtual Industry Roundtable with Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego

On March 26, 2021, the Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association hosted a virtual industry meeting with Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego for an update on the current state of the industry and to discuss ways to help the hospitality industry recover from the losses it has incurred in 2020 due to the pandemic. In fact, since the start of the pandemic, Arizona has lost nearly $12 billion in direct visitor spending. Given that tourism is a staple of Arizona’s economy, many industry representatives who participated in the meeting shared their personal stories of how the pandemic has negatively impacted their business and thanked the Mayor for her ongoing support to help with the industry’s stabilization efforts and continued recovery. We look forward to the future and our continued work with the Mayor to recover Arizona’s tourism industry back to its prime.
