Sonora Entrepreneurship Students Experience Greater Phoenix Tech Hub
More than 30 students from the Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, Sonora Norte Campus, experienced the growing entrepreneurial ecosystem of Greater Phoenix during a visit from September 22-26, with the support of the City of Phoenix and Molera Alvarez. Students in the fields of industrial engineering, international business, and business incubation visited Phoenix-area startup incubators, maker spaces and university entrepreneurship programs, among other points of interest in the Valley’s emerging tech hub. The program culminated in a dialogue with local entrepreneurship leaders and Latino startups at the Mexican Consulate in Phoenix, where the students received valuable insight about developing and launching their own companies. The visit was part of a university-wide program of the Tec de Monterrey known as Semana i, a week devoted to out-of-classroom learning experiences.
