Since the passing of Senator McCain we have asked ourselves, what does it mean to serve? Sen. McCain embodied the definition of service – to his country in battle, to his family and friends, to the State of Arizona in the House and the Senate. Sen. McCain believed in serving a cause greater than himself and understood that we are all part of the larger fabric of this great nation. His statement that “we are all more the same than we are different,” embodied his understanding of our diverse communities, as he embraced all people, boldly and without fear.
