Valley Partnership Leads Effort to Reform GPLET Program

Last week, Arizona Governor Ducey signed H.B. 2213 (GPLET Reform) into law, legislation that reformed a vital economic development tool in Arizona. Valley Partnership, with the assistance of the legislative affairs team at Molera Alvarez, spearheaded the effort to turn a problematic bill into an opportunity for reform and transparency to the state’s Government Property Lease Excise Tax program. Valley Partnership provided significant leadership at the Arizona Legislature, working closely with bill sponsor Rep. Vince Leach, the business community and local government partners on reforms to this important program. The end result: a compromise bill that was supported by all parties and received unanimous support at the legislature. Valley Partnership and the Molera Alvarez team look forward to future conversations about economic development in Arizona.
