Last week, Valley Partnership honored State Senator Bob Worsley and Representative Vince Leach with the 2017 Legislators of the Year Award because of their commitment to responsible development. Senator Worsley has been a leader at the legislature on long-term planning for our state’s transportation and infrastructure needs. This session, his leadership was critical in securing additional resources for the Highway User Revenue Fund, ensuring our city and county partners will have resources for road projects and improvements. Representative Leach played a critical role in reforming our Government Property Lease Excise Tax program. Although the initial version of his bill was problematic for the development community, he worked closely with Valley Partnership and numerous stakeholders to reach a compromise that added much-needed transparency while maintaining the integrity of the program. The Molera Alvarez team thanks Senator Worsley and Representative Leach for their leadership at the Capitol and we congratulate them on this prestigious recognition.
