The Metro Phoenix Export Alliance (MPEXA) officially launched on May 27 at an event hosted by the Arizona Small Business Association and featuring an array of private sector leaders and local, state and federal officials. MPEXA is a regional export collaboration entity created to drive the effort to double exports by Greater Phoenix companies by 2025. This effort emerged from Phoenix’s participation in the national Global Cities Initiative, a joint project of Brookings and JPMorgan Chase, supported locally by the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.

MPEXA is co-chaired by: Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton; Hank Marshall, Executive Officer of City of Phoenix Community and Economic Development Division; and Karen Dickinson, Shareholder of Polsinelli PC and Chair of the Arizona District Export Council. The working board of MPEXA will be composed of business leaders committed to export promotion, among them James Ahlers, Molera Alvarez VP of Global Affairs and General Counsel.
