Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Hon. Ron Dermer, held a roundtable discussion this past month in Phoenix with Latino business leaders and state and local representatives. The meeting, which was organized by Molera Alvarez, touched on many topics, including the history of the Jewish people and Spanish-speaking populations, immigration, and the importance of the free market. The ambassador also explained some of the water conservation steps his country has taken, as Israel and Phoenix share the issue of a desert climate. The state of Arizona recently opened a new trade office in the city of Tel Aviv, Israel, and state officials hope that Israel and Arizona can share ideas and technologies around water conservation.
