City of Phoenix Receives Presidential “E” Award for Export Service
The City of Phoenix received the President’s 2016 “E” Award for Export Service, at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., on May 16. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker delivered the award to Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and Hank Marshall, Community and Economic Development Executive Officer, who were joined by 122 other honorees from around the country. The President’s “E” Award is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports. The award is usually reserved for private companies, and Phoenix is only the fifth city to earn the honor in the 54 years it has been issued. Phoenix-based company EXOS – a graduate of the City of Phoenix export boot camp administered by the Arizona Commerce Authority – also won the E Award for Exports.
