On March 23, 2021, Cindy McCain, Chairman of the Board of the McCain Institute for International Leadership, was honored by UnidosUS during the virtually held 2021 Capital Awards. UnidosUS is a leading national non-profit organization based in Washington, DC that advocates for Latinos in the areas of civic engagement, civil rights and immigration, education, workforce and the economy, health, and housing. Molera Alvarez Managing Partner Ruben Alvarez serves as a Board Member of the UnidosUS Action Fund.

UnidosUS hosts the annual Capital Awards to honor and recognize leaders who have championed policies and legislation to empower and strengthen the Latino community, along with changemakers outside of politics who advocate on behalf of Latinos. This year’s other honorees included Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ); and Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA), which received this year’s Capital Award for Public Service.
