A Centennial of Service
The Phoenix Police Reserve will commemorate their 100th anniversary on May 17. The civic-minded men and women of the Reserve have been serving and protecting Phoenix residents since 1918. These are dedicated professionals with full-time careers (doctors, lawyers, business managers, real estate agents, and retired police officers), who also volunteer as part-time, full-authority police officers. Currently, there are 106 active reserve officers, with several recruits going through the academy to become the next generation of reservists. The goal is to have 300 active reserve officers. The Phoenix Police Reserve Foundation serves the Reserve by raising funds and providing equipment, including fully equipped patrol vehicles, radios, and computers, and funding recruitment efforts to continue the mission.
