Arizona State of The State & Opening Day
The Arizona 57th Legislature, First Regular Session, officially commenced on Monday, January 13th, as new members were sworn in and Governor Hobbs delivered her third State of the State Address.
During her address, Governor Hobbs laid out her priorities for the session and outlined several commitments in her Executive Budget under a plan she referred to as “The Arizona Promise.” She highlighted key policy areas, including water, education, housing, public safety, and workforce development.
Governor Hobbs sought a middle ground on several issues, such as raising pay for teachers and corrections officers, addressing veteran homelessness, and supporting semiconductor manufacturing. She also emphasized the necessity of renewing Proposition 123 and reaffirmed her commitment to prioritizing teacher pay.
