Molera Alvarez Welcomes Hermosillo Mayor Antonio Astiazarán to Phoenix
Molera Alvarez was honored to welcome Hermosillo’s new Mayor, Antonio Astiazarán, to Phoenix for his first international trip as Mayor October 18-19. Astiazarán took office just one month ago, and made it a priority to meet with Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and other Greater Phoenix government and business leaders to discuss opportunities to expand trade between the long-time sister cities. Our team worked with a variety of community partners to arrange meetings for the Mayor and his delegation with representatives from: the City of Phoenix, Maricopa Association of Governments, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Arizona Commerce Authority, Arizona Technology Council, Black Chamber of Arizona, Arizona Department of Transportation, Arizona State University, and Arizona Mining Association, to name a few. We also hosted a welcome reception for the Mayor and his delegation at The Camby, which was attended by Arizona’s top allies in strengthening the state’s relationship and economic ties with Mexico.
Additionally, Molera Alvarez arranged several round table meetings for the Mayor to discuss how Arizona tech and clean energy businesses can assist Hermosillo in becoming a more digitally connected, clean energy-powered city with improved public services for all residents. Round table participants included: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Zero Electric Vehicles, The Western Way, AECOM, Dell Technologies, Amazon Web Services, and more. Astiazarán was joined by Hermosillo City Councilwoman Ana Maria Araque, Economic Development Director, Dr. Gertie Agraz, and Chief of Staff Daniel Duran. We look forward to helping the City of Hermosillo advance city services and economic opportunities with the help of Arizona’s strong government and business resources.
