Arizona Continues to Take Action Against COVID-19
Since the last update, Governor Doug Ducey has issued additional executive orders to further deal with COVID-19. First and foremost is his Stay at Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected order issued on March 30th which asks Arizonans to stay home unless performing an essential activity or function. In addition to this order the governor has issued orders to:
- Enhance data collection on COVID-19 supplies and the numbers of positive or suspected cases from the healthcare system.
- Require visitors from New York, Connecticut and New Jersey to self-quarantine on arrival in the state.
- Enhance protections in nursing and residential care homes.
- Provide restaurants the ability to sell bulk items not normally labeled for resale.
- Halt evictions for small businesses and nonprofits.
- Expand veterinary telemedicine.
Other actions the governor has taken include
- Requesting a Major Disaster Declaration from the federal government for additional resources.
- Requesting assistance from the Secretary of State and Secretary of Agriculture in restarting dairy exports to Mexico.
- Relaxing the limit on truck weights to ensure the delivery of essential goods and supplies.
- Opening child care centers for children of frontline COVID-19 workers.
- Securing the production of 9 million N95 masks for the state from Honeywell.
