The City of Phoenix conducted a successful trade mission to Tijuana, Baja California Sur, on February 15-17, led by Vice Mayor Laura Pastor and Councilman Michael Nowakowski, and organized by Molera Alvarez. Tijuana is the fifth largest city in Mexico and one of the fastest growing due to the concentration of advanced manufacturing clusters in aerospace and electronics, among others. The delegation met with Tijuana City Council members and the Tijuana Secretary of Economic Development, visited the city’s Business Innovation & Technology (BIT) Center, and toured several advanced manufacturing facilities with ties to Arizona companies.  The leaders from Arizona industry and tourism composing the delegation included: Steve Zylstra, President & CEO of the Arizona Technology Council; Robin Reed, President & CEO of the Black Chamber of Arizona; Bill Harris, President & CEO, Science Foundation Arizona; and Glenn Hamer, President & CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
